경남 남해군 남면에 위치한 가천다랭이마을은 선조들이 농토를 조금이라도 더 넓히기 위해 산비탈을 깎아 만든 계단식 논이 있는 곳으로 유명한 곳이다. 정겨운 시골 풍경과 함께 마을 뒤로는 설흘산이 앞에는 바다가 있어 자연을 느끼기에도 충분한 장소이다.

Gacheon Darangi Village, located in Nam-myeon, Namhae-gun, Gyeongnam, is famous for its terraced rice fields that our ancestors created by cutting down the hillside to expand their farmland. With a lovely rural landscape and Seolheulsan Mountain behind the village and the sea in front, it is a place where you can feel nature.

카페톨 가는 길

 

마을 안으로 들어가 가볍게 산책하다 보면 카페 몇 군데를 지나가게 되는데 그중 예쁜 정원이 있는 "카페톨"이라는 곳을 소개하려고 한다.

유럽풍 주황색 지붕이 인상적인 카페톨은 가천다랭이마을 아래쪽으로 내려가다 보면 있는데 전용주차장이 따로 없기 때문에 가천다랭이마을 1,2 주차장 혹은 마을 내 갓길주차를 해야 한다. 마을 안쪽은 길이 좁기 때문에 운전에 미숙한 사람은 위쪽 주차장을 이용하는 것이 좋다. 그리고 처음 방문하는 사람에겐 카페 찾기가 어려울 수 있으니 아래 지도를 꼭 참고해서 가길 바란다.

Cafe Tol, with its impressive orange European roof, is located at the bottom of Gacheon Darangi Village. However, since there is no dedicated parking lot, you must park at Gacheon Darangi Village 1, 2 parking lots or on the side of the road within the village. Since the roads inside the village are narrow, it is recommended that inexperienced drivers use the upper parking lot. Also, for first-time visitors, it may be difficult to find the cafe, so please refer to the map below.

카페톨의 가장 큰 매력은 하늘과 바다를 배경 삼은 정원이 있다는 것이다. 겨울엔 날씨가 추워서 정원에 식물이 메말라있지만 그 나름대로 느낌이 있어서 좋다. 봄에 가면 다양한 봄꽃들이 피어있어서 정원 곳곳에 있는 의자에 앉아 카페톨의 봄을 즐길 수 있다. 나는 봄가을 겨울에 가봤는데 역시 봄에 방문하는 걸 추천한다.

The biggest attraction of Cafe Tol is that it has a garden with the sky and the sea as its background. In winter, the weather is cold and the plants in the garden are dry, but it has its own unique feel and is nice. If you go in spring, various spring flowers are in bloom, so you can sit on the chairs located throughout the garden and enjoy the spring of Cafe Tol. I went in spring, fall, and winter, but I recommend visiting in spring.

야외 평상

 

하늘과 바다를 배경으로 한 정원도 있지만 가천다랭이마을의 계단식 논을 배경으로 한 평상이 있는 구역도 있다. 가을에 가면 빨갛게 익은 감들이 주렁주렁 매달려있는 감나무 아래 평상에 앉아 카페톨의 가을을 느낄 수 있다.

There is a garden with the sky and sea as the background, but there is also an area with a bench with the terraced rice fields of Gacheon Darangi Village as the background. If you go in the fall, you can feel the fall of Cafe Tol while sitting on a bench under a persimmon tree with red ripe persimmons hanging in bunches.

실내테이블

 

이번 설연휴에 오랜만에 카페톨에 방문했는데 날씨가 너무 추워서 실내로 들어갔다. 손님들로 가득해서 약간의 웨이팅이 필요했다.

I visited Cafe Tol for the first time in a long while during this Lunar New Year holiday, but the weather was so cold that I went inside. It was full of customers, so I had to wait a bit.

 

커피 유자에이드 바나나주스 등 다양한 음료와 함께 카페톨의 시그니처 메뉴인 쌀식빵과 쌀카스텔라의 조합인 세트메뉴를 주문하는 걸 추천한다.

l recommend ordering the set menu, which is a combination of Cafe Tol's signature menu items, rice bread and rice castella, along with various drinks, such as coffee, yuzu ade, and banana juice.

 

지인은 핸드드립커피 나는 딸기라테 그리고 쌀빵은 쌀식빵 하나와 쌀카스텔라 하나로 주문했다.

My friend ordered hand drip coffee, I ordered strawberry latte, and for rice bread, I ordered one rice bread and one rice castella.

 

음료와 빵 모든 것이 맛있었다. 특히 쌀빵은 여전히 맛있었고 이제 인터넷으로도 주문하면 택배로 받아볼 수 있어서 굳이 카페에서 사지 않아도 된다.

The drinks and bread were all delicious. The rice bread in particular was still delicious, and now you can order it online and have it delivered to you, so you don't have to buy it at the cafe.

카페톨의 봄

 

몇 년 전 유채꽃 피는 따뜻한 봄에 방문한 기억이 떠올랐다. 유채꽃이 있던 곳에 평상이 자리 잡으면서 그 뒤론 카페톨의 유채꽃을 볼 수 없었지만 대신 계단식 논에 유채꽃이 가득 피어있고 카페톨 정원에 알록달록한 꽃들이 심어져 있어서 아쉽지 않았다. 벌써 2월이다. 곧 다시 방문해야겠다.

I remembered visiting a few years ago during the warm spring when the rape blossoms were in bloom. Since the flat ground was built where the rape blossoms used to be, I couldn’t see the rape blossoms at Cafe Tol anymore, but instead, the terraced rice fields were in full bloom and the Cafe Tol garden was filled with colorful flowers, so I didn’t feel bad. It’s already February. I have to visit again soon.
