제주스러운 포토존이 가득한
카페 귤꽃다락!
제주도에는 예쁜 카페가 정말 많다. 몇 년 전 동생과 제주여행을 갔을 때 1일 3카페까지 갔었는데 작년 무계획 나 홀로 제주여행에서는 시간적 자금적 여유로 인해 1일 1카페까지만 허용했다. 제주바다가 보이는 카페를 가려다가 바다가 보이지 않아도 충분히 제주 느낌이 나는 카페를 가기로 했다. 그래서 찾아간 곳이 바로 귤꽃다락이다.
There are so many pretty cafes in Jeju Island. When I went to Jeju with my younger sibling a few years ago, I went to three cafes a day, but last year, when I went to Jeju alone without a plan, I was limited to one cafe a day due to time and money constraints. I was going to go to a cafe with a view of the Jeju sea, but decided to go to a cafe that gave me a Jeju feel even without a view of the sea. That’s why I went to Gyulkkotdarak.
귤꽃다락은 서귀포시 어느 마을 안에 위치한 카페이다. 카페 외관부터 벌써 취향저격! 카페 안에는 이미 손님들로 가득했고 주문을 먼저 하는게 아니라 자리를 먼저 잡아야 했다. 주문을 받는 본관에는 이미 만석이었고 직원은 별관으로 안내해줬다. 별관에 가서 자리를 잡고 다시 본관으로 가서 주문을 했다. 주문을 하고 음료와 디저트를 다 먹고 카페를 떠나기 전에 사진을 찍어라고 적혀있었다.
Gyulkkotdarak is a cafe located in a village in Seogwipo City. The cafe’s exterior is already my taste! The cafe was already full of customers, so I had to grab a seat before ordering. The main building where orders are taken was already full, so the employee guided me to the annex. I went to the annex, grabbed a seat, and went back to the main building to order. After ordering and finishing my drinks and desserts, it said to take a picture before leaving the cafe.
제주하면 '귤'이지! 메뉴엔 커피도 있고 다른 음료도 있었지만 귤꽃다락의 시그니처는 귤로 만든 음료와 디저트였다. 혼자 갔지만 먹어보고 싶은 디저트를 다 주문했다. 내가 주문한 것은 귤에이드, 귤양갱 그리고 청귤무스케이크였다. 솔직히 예쁜 카페 가면 음료나 디저트가 보기보다 맛이 별로일 때가 많았는데 귤꽃다락은 달랐다. 보기 좋은 떡이 먹기도 좋다고 했던가! 정말 맛있었다.
When you think of Jeju, you think of tangerines! The menu included coffee and other drinks, but the signature dishes of Gyulkkotdarak were drinks and desserts made with tangerines. I went alone, but I ordered all the desserts I wanted to try. I ordered tangerine ade, tangerine jelly, and green tangerine mousse cake. To be honest, when I go to a pretty cafe, there are many times when the drinks and desserts don't taste as good as they look, but Gyulkkotdarak was different. They say that pretty rice cakes taste good too! It was really delicious.
앙증맞은 귤양갱은 푸딩처럼 부드러웠다. 탱탱한 젤리느낌이 아니었다. 그래서 좋았다.
The cute tangerine jelly was soft like pudding. It didn't have a chewy jelly-like texture. That was why I liked it.
청귤무스케이크가 이 카페의 대표메뉴였는데 한 입 먹어보니 왜 대표메뉴인지 바로 알 수 있었다. 정말 부드러웠다.
The green tangerine mousse cake was the signature menu of this cafe, and after taking a bite, I could immediately see why it was the signature menu. It was really soft.
상큼한 귤에이드까지 완벽했다. 혼자서 1음료 2디저트라니... 너무 많이 주문했다는 생각이 들긴 했지만 먹어보니 욕심내길 잘했다. 별관에 앉아 이 음료와 디저트를 먹는 동안 동생이 떠올랐다. 좋은 곳에서 맛있는 거 먹으면 가족들이 생각이 난다. 다음에 동생을 데리고 다시 꼭 와야겠다는 생각을 했다.
Even the refreshing tangerine ade was perfect. I thought I ordered too much for one drink and two desserts by myself, but after eating them, I was glad I was greedy. While sitting in the annex and eating these drinks and desserts, I thought of my younger sibling. When I eat delicious food in a nice place, I think of my family. I thought I should definitely come back with my younger sibling next time.
주문한 음료와 디저트를 순식간에 다 먹고 이제 사진을 찍으러 본관에 갔다. 본관은 외국인 특히 대만인 여행객들로 가득 했다. 한국인보다 외국인이 더 많은 카페였다. 어떻게 알고 찾아오는건지 신기했다. 귤꽃다락을 상징하는 포토존은 자리가 비워져있었다. 모두가 이곳에서 사진을 찍고 싶어할테니 모두가 차례대로 사진을 찍을 수 있도록 한 것이다.
After quickly finishing the drinks and desserts I ordered, I went to the main building to take pictures. The main building was full of foreigners, especially Taiwanese tourists. There were more foreigners than Koreans in this cafe. I was curious how they knew to come here. The photo zone, which symbolizes the Tangerine Flower Attic, was empty. Everyone would want to take pictures here, so everyone took turns taking pictures.
귤꽃다락은 포토존 그 자체였다. 곳곳이 온통 포토존이다. 그만큼 잘 꾸며져 있다는 뜻이다. 카페 관리하는 것이 정말 쉽지 않겠다는 생각이 들었다.
The Tangerine Flower Attic was a photo zone in itself. Everywhere was a photo zone. That means it was well decorated. I thought that managing a cafe would not be easy.
본관에서 별관으로 갈 때 정원을 지나간다. 이 정원엔 청귤나무가 가득했다. 정원 역시 곳곳이 포토존이었다.
When going from the main building to the annex, you pass through a garden. This garden was full of tangerine trees. The garden was also a photo zone in many places.
초록초록한 청귤의 싱그러움이 느껴지는 정원이었다.
It was a garden where you could feel the fresh scent of green tangerines.
별관도 정말 예뻤다. 약간 좁은 공간임에도 불구하고 통유리창이 주는 개방감으로 답답하지 않았다. 카페 귤꽃다락은 음료와 디저트도 맛있고 사진찍기에도 좋고 모든 것이 제주스러운 완벽한 카페였다.
The annex was also really pretty. Despite being a bit cramped, the openness of the glass windows made it not stuffy. Cafe Gyulkkotdarak was a perfect cafe with delicious drinks and desserts, a great place to take pictures, and everything about it was very Jeju-like.
